small things matter

Anyway, was reading problogger’s entry on 9 Lessons You Can Learn about Blogging By Watching Me Sell My House. I think they are just fantastic. Let me start with the first one : the one that says “Small Things Matter”
As part of the service that our real estate agents offer we had an interior designer come to our home to give us some advice on how to arrange things to show the house off to it’s fullest potential. I’m not sure what I was expecting her to tell us but was surprised to hear that much of what she suggested was quite small and that while they didn’t sound much they made a real difference. For example, moving our fridge from one part of the kitchen to another completely opened up the room.
Pay attention to the smaller details on your blog - while individually the small things that you don’t might not make much of a difference, overall they can really add up!
Now I believe that is very very useful tip not only for bloggers, but also for small companies like us - enveluv. I remember from the time Rasel first told us the idea of sending out letters and greeting cards from web for free, we went through so many countless details to make it work. Since we have less money (read : no money =p), we went to talk to so many people to see what can we do o reduce the cost. Can we make the card size 2 cm smaller? Can we make the color a bit lesser? Can we make the envelope size smaller a bit? Can we even get people to print it for free?
And after so many tiny little and big fat meetings we still have not managed to finalize everything. Hopefully by end of this month when we start the service (we are keeping our fingers crossed) and you all can send physical card for free (have you signed up yet for the update? go sign now =p) we will have all those tiny little things covered. We do know that even with so many things covered, we will still be up for some surprises. Now that brings us to the no 4 point of the post - Expect the unexpected.

I do have a question, though you may not want to tell me the truth, but I wonder how you could keep it free? I mean, do you rely only on advertisements?
Seriously, come to think of it. The end user doesn’t pay anything. He logs in, find a card, types a message and clicks a button. And you guys print the card out (maybe?), and send it to the recipient. At the very least, you need 30sen stamp for each card..
